The Nature Conservancy is a global environmental non-profit non-government organisation working to create a world where people and nature can thrive.

Founded at its grassroots in the United States in 1951, The Nature Conservancy has grown to become one of the most effective and wide-reaching environmental organisations in the world. Thanks to more than a million members and the dedicated efforts of our diverse staff and more than 400 scientists, we impact conservation in 76 countries across six continents.

Our Challenge: Learn how The Nature Conservancy works to balance the needs of a growing population with those of nature.

Stand with us

Our mission demands that we do everything in our power to create a world where people and nature can thrive. Our science shows us that we can.  From our historic work in land acquisition to our cutting-edge research that influences global policy, The Nature Conservancy is constantly evolving so that we can take on the world’s most important challenges.

Seven decades of conservation experience have taught us that we can accomplish more for the natural world when we bring together people and organisations across borders, across sectors and across political aisles. We all have a stake in a better future.

The Nature Conservancy is known for our pragmatic, inclusive style. We’re proud of the partnerships we’ve built. But we need even more people on our side to protect the lands and waters on which all life depends.

Our Global Priorities

Around the world we're focusing on these key areas in order to achieve our ambitious mission.
